Favorite Eye Palette

fav-eye-palette

Hi and happy December!! It is so crazy how fast time is going I wish it would slow down. It feels like only a few days ago that I shared in my last post that I finally bought myself the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette but really I’ve had it for almost 2 weeks now. Today I am here to share that it was 100% worth the money and it has quickly become one of my favorite palettes.

img_0629

I got this in the mail the day before leaving for Thanksgiving vacation so I took the risk and brought only this palette for the whole week. When I came back and went on a weekend trip I decided to bring my old favorite the Naked 2 palette with me instead. Well, I  really regretted that decision. This chocolate bar palette is just amazing and I feel like I can no longer travel without it. Not only does it smell fantastic and like chocolate but the colors are all exactly the shades I like on my skin tone. The shadows are so smooth, apply really well on the eyes, and last all day long without fading or creasing. The darker shades are also very easy to smudge out. Another plus is that there is very little fallout when dipping in your brush.

I just wanted to let everyone know that if you do know own this palette, you need it in your collection. It is such great quality and a beautiful piece to add to your daily makeup routine! The Body Shop Must Have Item!

the-body-shop

The Body Shop has some of my favorite items and if you haven’t tried any now is your chance because they are currently having a 40% off site wide sale! Today I wanted to talk to you about my 3 favorite skincare items from the Tea Tree Oil line that I have been absolutely loving for the past month.

These three items are an absolute must have if you suffer with acne or acne scarring. I heard good things about tea tree oil so I decided to try it out and it is AMAZING! In just three days red marks from acne will begin to fade and any blemishes will go away. The products are nondrying and do not irritate sensitive skin. Tea tree oil definitely has a unique smell but you get used to it and it’s honestly worth it.

To be more specific, tea tree oil is supposed to be a healing agent with antibacterial properties and is meant for any skin type.

Tea Tree Cleansing Wipes

I will definitely be making some purchases during this sale to get a larger size of the oil since I started with a mini one, and another package of the cleansing wipes because these are a life savor when traveling. If you have acne prone skin I highly recommend you try out these products especially while you can get them for less than $10 each with the current sale!

Sephora VIB Sale

sephorasalenovember2014-ft

Happy Sunday! As i’m sure everyone knows this weekend is the Sephora VIB sale where members get 20% off their entire purchase. This sale is huge because it is very rare that we can get top products at a discount. This is the perfect time to restock on your favorites and splurge on items you’ve been wanting to try. Keep reading to see what I purchased during this sale 🙂

Urban Decay Original Eyeshadow Potion

primer-potion

This is my ride or die eyeshadow primer and it was already on sale for only $10 so I had to make sure I grabbed another one!

Rosebud Salve

rosebud-salve

My favorite lip balm! This helps heal chapped lips instantly it is my favorite and definitely worth the $6. One tube lasts a long time so you get a lot for your money.

Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer Light

primer

I got the travel size of this Smashbox primer because from experience a little goes a long way and a smaller packaging saves money and is so much easier to travel. I used to use the original formula of this and loved it until they came out with the primer water and I switched over to that. I haven’t been loving the primer water as much now that the warmer months are coming to an end so I decided to try out the newest formula of an old favorite. According to the description this light version is water based so it is better for my sensitive, acne prone skin.

Smashbox Studio Skin 15 Hour Wear Foundation

foundation

I’ve heard great things about this foundation and I was matched with this one when the associate in the store tested my skin for my perfect foundation. I’m excited to try this out and hopefully

Too Faced The Chocolate Bar Eye Palette

Guys I am beyond excited to have finally purchased this. I have been wanting this palette for at least the past year but for some reason never went through with buying it. Since a year has gone by and I still obsess over wanting it I decided now was the perfect time to try it. I am sooo excited to get to playing around with these beautiful colors!

Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder

setting-powder

This is probably the most hyped setting powder that I see on Youtube. I honestly don’t think there is one person I watch that doesn’t swear by this. Just like the primer I bought I got this in a travel size. I’m sure a little goes a long way, it’s easier to travel with, and I want to make sure I really like it first. I hope it lives up to the hype!

Ulta has an awesome deal of 10 brushes + 2 makeup sponges for only $50! It can’t get better than that! I find these brushes are just as good as higher end ones and they wash great. If you are in need of new makeup brushes I highly recommend these.

Too Faced Melted Lipsticks are one of the best liquid lipsticks at the store. Individually, they go for $21. This awesome holiday kit gives you 3 deluxe sized lipsticks along with a mini melted matte lipstick all for only $25! This is a crazy deal and if you love liquid lippies you definitely need to get your hands on this kit.

This entire kit is $49 which I think is such a great deal. The entire kit comes in an adorable pink and purple travel friendly case making packing your makeup for a trip so much easier. You get an entire eyeshadow palate which has both matte and shimmer shades(LOVE that combo), along with contour and highlight shades, a brush, deluxe size of the tarteist lash paint mascara, and tarteist glossy lip paint. Such a great deal and kit especially for any travelers.

Peace, Joy & Fab Kit

First Aid Beauty has been one of my favorite skincare brands for awhile now. I find their products work for any skin type and any time of the year. I have my eyes on this kit to try out more products such as the hydrating mist and firm sleep cream. I love kits like this especially for skincare products because you get an entire skincare routine from one brand and get to try it out a bunch of products for a great price before spending the money on full sized products.

12 Days of Beauty

12-days-of-beauty

I think this is such a fun little kit that Ulta has for only $18. It is a great stocking stuffer or for someone who is new to makeup. All of the products are Ulta brand but you get a little present to open for 12 days and who doesn’t love that! Ulta brand isn’t my absolute favorite but I still find this to be a great gift.

Tips for Dealing With Stress

Hello everyone! I am so sorry I have been absent for the some time once again. I have been so swamped with exams that I have not had the time nor the energy to post on my blog. I was thinking about what I should post and I figured why not post my little tips that help me get through my stressful days, especially while in school. I hope some of you can relate and can find this post helpful. Always remember that the stress won’t last forever and better days are ahead 🙂

stress

  1. Get some sleep: Sleep is so important especially when you’re stressed. I find the less sleep I get the more stressed and irritable I become. Even if it’s just closing your eyes for 10 minutes I find it really helps me calm down and get a little bit of energy to keep going.

  1. Exercise: Exercising is known to be great for releasing tension. Whether it’s yoga, running, lifting weights, etc. just get the body moving and you are sure to feel better. Zumba is also a great stress reliever, go dance your heart out for an hour!

  1. Make time for fun: Even if you have a million of things to do make some time for fun activities. If it’s the weekend, go out for a drink with your friends or go to the movies, a football game, etc. Getting out and being social for a little bit will totally help you feel better.

  1. Relax before bed: This is something I do every night whether I’m stressed or not. Every night I have a set time where I stop doing any of my work and just read blogs, watch youtube videos, read articles on my favorite sites like Cosmopolitan and Popsugar, read a book, watch Netflix, scroll through Instagram etc. I think it is really important to give yourself a break/reward before getting some sleep that way you aren’t going to bed worrying and stressed.

  1. Treat yourself: In my opinion this is the most important. Whenever it’s exam time I treat myself to a glass of wine at the end of the day, sweet treats I wouldn’t normally eat, get take out, get some fancy coffee, and lastly I buy myself something small like a new lipstick or nail polish for my hard work.

Stress always comes and goes and it’s important to take care of yourself during the hard times to stay healthy. I find these 5 tips to be really helpful and I always think of them when I feel the stress coming on. Comment below your favorite tips for dealing with stress!

Sunshine Blogger Award

sunshine-blogger-award

Happy October!! This weekend brought some exciting news that the lovely November Fog blog nominated me for the Sunshine Blogger Award!! This makes me so happy especially since my blog hasn’t been as active as I would like due to college work. Anyways, the Sunshine Blogger Award is a way of recognizing bloggers who are positive and who creatively inspire others. So, once again, thank you Jessie!! Everyone should go check out her lifestyle blog 🙂

First things first the rules of the award!

  1. Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  2. Answer all the questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  3. Nominate blogs to receive the award and write them new questions.
  4. List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post.

Below are my answers to the questions November Fog asked!

  1. Where is the  coolest place you have ever traveled too?

The coolest place I have ever traveled too I would say is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I have gone there over ten times but I love the area and I always seem to discover new places in the town.

2. What inspired you to start a blog?

I was inspired to start to a blog because I have been loving YouTube videos and wanted to share my own opinions. I am not the type of person to want to video myself so I thought blogging would be a great option and I have really loved it.

3. What is your go to drink at Starbucks?

During the fall and winter  I love Salted Carmel Mocha and Peppermint Mocha!

4. What is your favorite season and why?

My favorite season used to be spring but with every year I love fall more. I love the weather, the fashion, the beauty products, the candle scents, and everything else. I also find my skin to look and feel the best in the fall as well because it’s not too oily and not too dry.

5. Do you plan on living where you are now for the rest of your life?

This is a great question and I don’t believe I will stay where I am. I feel like there are so many great places to live that I would kind of like to try someplace new. I will be attending graduate school hopefully next year so my next destination will all be determined by where I get accepted to school!

Now for my 3 nominations I nominate:

  1. Adi in the Life
  2. Rose Tinted Pics
  3. My Little Beauty Obsessions

My questions for you three are…

  1. What is your favorite thing to do in the fall?
  2. What type of blog posts are your favorite to write and/or read?
  3. What do you enjoy to do in your free time besides blogging?
  4. What is your favorite fall or winter beauty product?
  5. What is your must have fall fashion item?

Thanks so much again for the nomination and a big thank you to all my readers it means so much! Comment some fall blog posts you would like to see! I have been struggling on types of posts to make so I would love to hear your ideas 🙂

College Football Game Day Essentials

football stadium

One of the best times of the year is back this week! I was never big on football until I came to a Big 10 school and now I am obsessed with football. Nothing brings joy like College Football Game Days! Campus vibes are through the roof and there is no experience that can compare to campus and being in the stadium. Now that I’m on my fourth year, I have compiled my essentials to being prepared for game day.

Gear: If your college is big on football and you do not have an endless supply of gear you are doing something wrong. Half of my closet is full of my college shirts, shorts, pants, accessories, everything you can think of. It is very important to be prepared for game day no matter what the weather is.

Food and Booze Money: What’s game day without food and booze? After standing for four hours at a game you are bound to be absolutely starving by the end. Make sure to have some cash or a credit/debit card for some food.

Long Wearing Makeup: Whether it’s summer, fall, or winter game days are long as hell. Make sure to get the best long wearing makeup to ensure a flawless look throughout the entire day. I also try to bring along some concealer for touchups.

Portable Phone Charger or Charging Case: This is such an essential. Between tailgating, battery draining stadium time, and hitting the bars afterwards there is no way your phone is going to last. Bring along some type of charging device to make sure you’re good to go the entire day.

Comfortable Shoes, Preferably Sneakers: Like stated above, game days are long ass days. Standing on the bleachers for hours can be brutal on your feet, legs, back, ect. Get some cute comfortable sneakers to match your schools colors. My go-to are Nike sneakers.

A Happy Attitude: No one wants to deal with a cranky person on game day. Make sure to get a great night of sleep the night before and bring your best attitude. Having a happy, positive attitude will make game days so much more fun even through dealing with all the drunkies.

Sephora Haul

I recently went to Sephora and picked up a few goodies I thought I would share:)

sephora items

Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue: I have mentioned this in so many posts before but this stuff is seriously amazing. I am running low on my current bottle since I used it practically everyday this summer so I picked up a new one to bring back to college with me. It is the perfect face makeup to apply for class. I was actually told by an employee at Sephora that this complexion rescue is like gatorade for the face. It has so many beneficial ingredients in it that work really great with your skin!

Bare Minerals Gen Nude Matte Liquid Lipcolor: I have been loving the Gen Nude gloss since I got it this summer so I wanted to try out the Matte collection. I picked out the color ‘Slay’ which is a gorgeous mauve color. It is not as long wearing as I was hoping but it is a gorgeous color and the formula feels amazing on the lips. Normally I find matte liquid lippies to be drying but this one is not like that at all!

Smiths Rosebud Salve Balm: This is by far my favorite lip balm and totally worth the $6. About a year ago I heard so many youtubers mentioning this product in videos that I finally tried it out and it has been my favorite every since. One tube also lasts awhile so you get your moneys worth. It has a very light scent and does wonders for your lips.

Sephora Cream Lip Stain: I picked out the color ‘Always Red’ which is a matte classic red color and perfect for my college football game days! I was trying to find the perfect long wearing red lip color that wasn’t too drying and didn’t transfer. I saw great reviews online about this product and they were right. It is not drying at all, lasts for hours even through eating and drinking, and also the best part is that it doesn’t transfer. Nothing is worse than red lipstick awkwardly fading, smearing all over the place, or getting all over your boyfriends face. I am definitely thinking about purchasing more colors from this collection.

Stila Backstage Best Set: This fabulous box was gotten with my 500 rewards points. I have been saving them for something good and I thought this was just amazing. Inside the box has a red liquid lipstick which I have tried and loved. The only thing I do not like about it is that it transfers and is a little messy. There is also a small champagne colored eye shadow(my favorite for all over the lid), a mini mascara, and a mini stay all day liquid liner. I hear this eyeliner is just as great as the Kat Von D tattoo liner that I use so I’m looking forward to giving it a try.

Hope you enjoyed this little haul! Sephora is my guilty pleasure and this shopping trip was a little treat after finishing my GRE exam. Happy Wednesday 🙂

Favorite Author

favorite author

As posted before, I am a huge book lover. I am filled with so much happiness when I am able to just relax and enjoy a great book. It has been one of my favorite hobbies for as long as I can remember. One author that I have been a huge fan of for a while now is Colleen Hoover. The first book I randomly came across a few years ago on the Amazon Kindle store was ‘Slammed.’ Ever since that book I have been hooked. Not one of Colleen’s books have disappointed me. I know the second I start another one of her books I will be absolutely hooked and will struggle to put it down.

Colleen Hoover’s most recent book that came out this month is called ‘It Ends With Us.’ I just purchased it on my Kindle Paperwhite last night and have been absolutely hooked and already halfway through it!! Her books are considered Young Adults/Adult novels and are romance novels without being too mushy. Each story captures your attention right from the start and has you constantly wondering what is going to happen next all the way through. They are impossible not to love.

Some of her other novels that I have read and love include:

Slammed- Falling in love can feel like poetry. Or it can feel like a slam to the heart. Colleen Hoover’s romantic, emotion-packed debut novel unforgettably captures all the magic and confusion of first love, as two young people forge an unlikely bond before discovering that fate has other plans for them.

Point of Retreat- A continuation of Slammed. Sometimes two people have to fall apart to realize just how much they belong together. With the foundation of their relationship at risk, they must decide whether they are willing to fight for a future together, or to retreat back into solitude and heartache.

Hopeless – Sometimes discovering the truth can leave you more hopeless than believing the lies. (Sky’s story)

Losing Hope- The story of what happened when a troubled girl named Sky encountered a long-lost childhood friend, Dean Holder. (Dean’s story)

Finding Cinderella- A novella about the search for happily ever after.

Maybe Someday- A passionate tale of friendship, betrayal, and romance. Two college students find themselves needing each other in more ways than one.

Ugly Love- Hearts get infiltrated. Promises get broken. Rules get shattered.Love gets ugly.

Confess- A novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.

Never Never, Never Never 2, Never Never 3- #1 New York Times bestselling author of Hopeless joins forces with the New York Times bestselling author of Mud Vein. Together, they have created a gripping, romantic tale unlike any other. “How odd to be made of flesh, balanced on bone, and filled with a soul you’ve never met.” They’ve been in love since the age of fourteen. But as of this morning…they are complete strangers.

It Ends With Us- Sometimes it is the one who loves you who hurts you the most.

Yes I have actually read all of these and yes I absolutely love all of them. You will never be disappointed when you pick up a Colleen Hoover book. Comment below your favorite author! Instagram: anendlessweekendblog
